Sybil C. Ellis' Obituary
Sybil C. Ellis, life-time resident of Fort Myers, FL passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, April 24, 2020. She was 99 years of age.
Sybil was born on February 7, 1921 in Guyton, Georgia, the beautiful daughter to Annie B. (Hughes) & Gaither G. Cook. She leaves to cherish her memory her 4 children: Rebecca Buck, Arletta (Jackie) Kline, Chap (Lynn) and Rick (Carol) Ellis; grandchildren: Kara Krantz, Heather Riviezzo, Steve, Ashley, Cody & Reid Ellis; step-grandchildren: Kyle and Zac Vealey, 4 great grandchildren and many area family members. Sadly she was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson (Chip) and her husband (Allen R Ellis Sr.)
Sybil was an infant when her father moved the family to Fort Myers and Gaither later retired from the City of Fort Myers Water Treatment. She married Allen, also life-time resident of Fort Myers after his Graduation from UF & the beginning of his military career. She was a virtuous, wonderful, caring, loving wife & mother to her family. She did everything she could to help others. She was known for her fried Shrimp and Rum cakes. She lived from 1977 to April 24, 2020 in Royal Palm Village and well known in association for her bingo, bridge and poker face prior to the decline in health in 2016.
She will be missed by all as she was loved by all who knew her.
Private Burial service for immediate family will be May 1, with a celebration of life get together with notice to the family & friends at a later date.
