Sylvia Sheppard's Obituary
Sylvia Sheppard, 97, of Fort Myers, passed away Monday, August 20, 2018. She was born July 23, 1921 in Philadelphia, PA to Harry and Bella (Resnick) Sheppard. Her early years were spent in Philadelphia but the family moved to Brooklyn, NY in the 1920’s. Graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1938, she worked in New York City for several decades as a personal executive secretary for various corporations.Sylvia enjoyed the arts. A fan of classical music and ballet, as well as the New York Theatrical productions, she spent a number of hours enjoying Broadway entertainment. In her own right, she was proficient at the piano and devoted a number of hours at that hobby which gave her great pleasure.Sylvia was a very kind and caring individual and had a great sense of humor. Those around her appreciated her and the feeling was mutual. No matter where she lived, people always spoke well of her.Although most of her years were in Brooklyn, she lived in Great Neck, NY for several decades, finally moving to Fort Myers in 2009.She is survived by her brothers Larry of Monroe Township, NJ and Alan of Cape Coral, FL.Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907, 239-936-0555.
