Talitha Alice Smith's Obituary
Talitha Alice Smith, 92, passed away March 9, 2013 in Melbourne, Florida. She was born October 20, 1920 in Bellefontaine, Ohio to the late Raymond and Clorinda (Hill) Miller. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Charles F. Smith, Sr.; brother, Perry and sisters, Jean and Phyllis. Talitha came to Lee County in 1960 from Upper Sandusky, Ohio. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary. She retired after 27 years as an assistant librarian for the Fort Myers Public Library. She also was a volunteer librarian at J. Colin English Elementary School as well as volunteering for church work throughout her life. Talitha was also very active at the Glenbrooke Retirement Center. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Charles F. Smith, Jr. and his wife Betty of Palmetto, Florida; Patricia A. Furlong and her husband William of Palm Bay, Florida; George R. Smith, Sr. and his wife Lorraine of Mt. Laurel, New Jersey; and Steven D. Smith and his wife Deborah of Riverview, Florida; grandchildren, Laura, Dale, Phillip, Brian, George Jr., Katrina, Joshua, Stephanie, Matthew, Sarah, Tyler and Rebecca; 21 great-grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. There will be a visitation on Friday, March 15 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Guiding Light Community Church, 1360 Touchstone Road, North Fort Myers 33903. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 1589 Colonial Blvd. Fort Myers, Florida 33907.
