Ted F. Lash's Obituary
Ted F. Lash, 86, a Florida resident since 2010, formerly of Ohio passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2020 in Fort Myers, FL. He was born in Vandalia, IL on July 25, 1933 to the late Guy and Lottie Lash.
Ted received his B.S. from Murray State University, Murray KY and advanced work toward his M.S at Xavier University, Cincinnati, OH. He taught Industrial Arts and Mechanical Drawing at New Madrid High School, New Madrid, MO, Watkins Memorial High School in Pataskala, OH where he was also an Assistant Football Coach and Barrett Junior High School in Columbus, OH. In 1963 Ted started Lash Construction Company fulltime and enjoyed a successful career designing and building homes. Ted loved all sports and was an outstanding basketball player. He enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with his grandchildren. His special place was a family home he designed and built on the lake in Hide-A-Way Hills, OH. He took great delight in boating, water skiing, swimming, napping in a hammock, hiking through the hills of Hocking County and eating many fantastic meals with the family and friends always gathered together there. In addition to his natural athletic skill, Ted had an exceptional mind and gift for mathematics, graphic and architectural design and could figure out a way to build anything against all odds.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Jane Lash of Alva, FL; three children, Susan Lash-Beach of Ft. Myers, FL; Mark Lash of Ft. Myers, FL and Todd Lash (Martha) of Alva, FL; six grandchildren, Matthew Lash, Chris Lash, Laura Lash of Lancaster, OH, Jennifer Lash-Smith (Russ) of West Mansfield, OH, Jason Lash of Ft. Myers, FL and Julie Lash-Schneider (Casey) of Ft. Myers, FL; as well as 13 great-grandchildren.
No formal services are scheduled at this time but the family plans a memorial service in the future.
