Terry C. Brown's Obituary
Terry C. Brown, 72, formerly of Bradford, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2015 in Ft. Myers, Florida where he and his wife, Barbara, have resided for the past 20 years. Born August 29, 1942 in Olean, NY he was a son of Paul R. and Irene “Marie” (Davis) Brown. He was a 1961 graduate of Bradford Area High School. On September 8, 1962, in Bradford, he married Barbara (Patterson) Brown. After working at Kendall Refining Company for a few years, Terry became an entrepreneur, fostering several small businesses in the Bradford area, one of which was Barnsdall’s Office Supply & Furniture where he was President and part owner. He was also a partner in a service station and a paving business. In 1982, he built the DARI-Hut in East Bradford, which was family owned and operated for ten years. In 1986, he started Highland Office Supply and Furniture, and later, Highland Homes, which was a franchisee for Excel Homes. Upon retiring to Florida, he began a building management business, which he continued to operate at the time of his death. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, helping his children with their homes, boating with his family, watching the Tampa Bay Rays, spending time with friends and neighbors, riding his Harley, and playing with his dog, Ally. In addition to his beloved wife of 53 years, he is survived by two daughters, Lynn M. Campbell and Kristen A. (James Rinehart) Birkmayer, all of Greer, SC; a son, Scott P. (Margaret Satterwhite) Brown of St. Marys, PA; four granddaughters: Olivia, Elaine, Carly, and Emily; one grandson, Gavin; one great-granddaughter, Evelyn; a brother, Richard (Susan) Brown, of Cyclone, PA and three nephews. In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Eleanor, and her husband, James McDowell. Family will receive friends at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens on Saturday, July 18th, at 10:30 followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM.
