Thelma "Becky" A. Oswald's Obituary
Thelma “Becky” A. Oswald went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday morning February 24, 2021.She is survived by three daughters, Kathy Robles, Vickie (Gary) Green, and Karen (David) Jennings, seven grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death is her husband Louis Oswald, daughter Terry Lee, and granddaughter Tara Gonzalez.
She was an Okie having been born in Wyandotte, Oklahoma on September 13, 1931, to Joseph and Mary (Harness) Mobley.
Her career included Sinclair Oil, in Independence, Kansas, and International Harvester and Navistar of Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
Becky was blessed with a beautiful voice and sang in high school musicals, choirs, and was often a featured soloist. For over 50 years she was a caring Sunday School teacher, spending hours weekly preparing her lessons and reaching out to her ladies. Becky authored the devotional “A Word From God” written primarily for the women of Nigeria, for Women of Worth International, but has been purchased and read all over the United States.
Becky’s was the place to be for game night, Bible Study, or even line dancing in the driveway. She loved to cook and bake and deliver her culinary delights to her sweet neighbors of Vistanna Villas in her “Becky” golf cart.
Sunny Florida has been her residence for 23 years but Heaven is her home.
Becky’s memorial service will be live streamed in the Spring with her grandson Fr. Jon Paul Robles officiating.
Donations can be made to Something Beautiful, an organization run by her dear friend Marilyn Orton, whose goal is to place a Bible in the hands of any woman who wants one around the world.
