Thelma Lorena Riddle's Obituary
Our mother Thelma Lorena Riddle, 89, passed peacefully on June 6, 2022 at Lee Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was born March 19, 1933 in Tyrone, PA, the only child of Louis and Thelma Bingman.
Thelma graduated from Rome Free Academy, Class of 1949. Following graduation, she served in the Navy and worked in the Pentagon. In the Navy she married Myron Riddle in 1954, after leaving the Navy she and Myron worked at The Rome Sentinel in Rome, New York before moving to Cape Coral in 1969, and started working for the Fort Myers News-Press, having several different positions in the Production Department, after 29 years, she retired in 1993.
She is survived by her sons, Chip (Myron) Riddle and his wife, Iris, Brian Riddle and his wife, Lori, Kevin Riddle and his wife, Bridget and Keith Riddle and his significant other, Jackie Figueiro; daughter, Brenda Riddle and her partner, Jodie Edlin all of Fort Myers, FL; four grandchildren, Austin, Travis, Morgan and Jordan.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 - 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL. The funeral service will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, just following the visitation on Thursday, June 16, 2022. An inurnment will be held 11:30 AM, Friday, June 17, 2022 at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Fort Myers, FL.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in loving memory of Thelma Lorena Riddle.
