Theodore Arthur Schurdell's Obituary
Theodore Arthur “Ted” Schurdell of Fort Myers, Florida and formerly of Shaker Heights, Ohio passed away after an extended illness on March 25, 2017 surrounded by his family.Ted was born on March 27, 1933 in Cleveland, Ohio. He was an active person with a passion and vitality for life. He graduated from Shortridge High School of Indianapolis, Indiana where he was a state wrestling champion, attended Butler University and was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He went on to build a successful advertising agency and career. Ted began his love of tennis, golf and paddle tennis as a member of Shaker Heights Country Club. An avid sportsman, he also enjoyed Scuba Diving with his wife and son, as well as, fly fishing, fly tying, kayaking, skiing, woodworking and pen making. Above all, Ted was devoted to Karel, his beloved wife of 59 years. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.Ted is also survived by his son, Todd Schurdell and wife Tara, grandson Zachary Schurdell and many nieces, nephews and cousins.The family tanks everybody for their many expressions of caring and compassionate friendship and concern. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home and the service and interment will be private.
