Thomas Paul Schwanitz, 67 of Fort Myers, FL died September 16, 2017 at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Fort Myers. Cremation rites will be accorded. Memorials: St. Michael Lutheran Church, 3595 Broadway, Fort Myers, FL 33901. Thomas was born June 17, 1950, in Detroit, MI, the son of Paul and Norma (Bryant) Schwanitz. He married Cathy Harris during 2002 on Mackinac Island, MI. Thomas work as a CPA for many years. He was a member of St. Michael Lutheran Church. He was an avid Detroit Lions and Tigers fan. During his leisure time he would often enjoy a round of golf. Surviving are his wife, Cathy of Fort Myers; children, Tracie Lepper and her husband Ryan of Macomb, MI, Daniel Harris and his wife Carolyn of Grosse Pointe Farms, MI; siblings, Richard Schwanitz and his wife Laura of St. Claire Shores, MI, Joseph Schwanitz and his wife Martha of Fort Gratiot, MI; brother in law, and grandchildren Kaleb, Kaden, Kane, Allison and Zachary. The Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Thomas.
