Thomas A. Ziegler Sr.'s Obituary
Thomas A. Ziegler, Sr., 76, a resident of North Fort Myers, FL since 1989, formerly of South New Jersey, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2025, in Fort Myers, FL. He was born on December 13, 1948, in Camden, NJ, to the late Anthony and Mary (Okeson) Ziegler.
Thomas was a very proud United States Army Veteran and served in Vietnam. He loved golf and had been playing since his early 30s. Thomas enjoyed sharing stories about his childhood and school years, bringing laughter and nostalgia to those around him.
He found immense joy in his grandchildren and the last few years were especially brightened by his great-grandchildren. Thomas was known for his fearless spirit, always ready to try new things and take risks. He was the best driver, a title he wore with pride. Stubborn and often the loudest person in the room, Thomas had a presence that was hard to miss.
He had a deep appreciation for Mo-Town and Doo-Wop music and a love for Disney and all its movies. A family tradition of going to Disney has carried on through the family, a testament to Thomas' enduring influence.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Connie Ziegler; two sons, Tom Ziegler of Cape Coral, FL and Erik Ziegler (Melissa) of Cape Coral, FL; one brother, Frank Parker (Gayle) of Mississippi; four grandchildren, Morgan, Kyle, Joelle and Justin; two great grandsons, Jaxon and Hudson; as well as many extended family and friends.
A Graveside Memorial Service will be celebrated 1:30 PM, Monday, February 3, 2025 in the Field of Honor section of Memorial Gardens Cemetery where the United States Army will present Military Honors.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in loving memory of Thomas A. Ziegler, Sr.
Thomas will be deeply missed by his family and friends, who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.
