Tina Daubenspeck and Edward "Ted" Epstein's Obituary
Tina Marie Daubenspeck and Edward Henry Epstein, passed away unexpectedly on December 14th, 2023. Both known affectionately as “TNT”, journeyed through life together, their fates forever intertwined. Born in different places but united by destiny, they found each other in Fort Myers, FL in 1994 and became inseparable. Their love story was one of enduring devotion, a bond that only grew stronger with time.
Tina's journey began in Noblesville, Indiana, where her infectious energy and love for sports, from swimming to softball and track, shone through her vibrant childhood. Always the performer, she'd serenade her family, belting out tunes of her favorite performers of the time. Her love affair with Florida, was ignited during family vacations over summers spent on Sanibel Island. The island's natural diversity captivated her—from the azure beaches to the breathtaking sunsets, leaving an indelible mark on her soul. A natural entrepreneur, Tina's 'Head to Toes by Tina' salon, specializing in nail and skin care, was not just a business but a testament to her dedication, winning accolades like the 'Islands Best' multiple years in a row. Her vibrant, free-spirited nature, akin to Ted's, radiated a childlike wonder. Tina's smile was her signature, illuminating any room she entered, and her innate ability to make others feel valued echoed her mantra of treating everyone with kindness. Her love for thrift store adventures seeking vintage designer accessories, anything with a touch of 'bling,' reflected her unique fashion sense. Yet, her greatest joy was being Chloe's mother. Tina was the epitome of a devoted 'team mom,' supporting Chloe's sports endeavors and sharing in her triumphs, even earning the 'Spark Plug' trophy together for their exuberant cheerleading for the softball team. Her unwavering love for Chloe, Ted, her family, and friends, buoyed by her faith, defined her happiness. Tina's legacy resides in her radiant spirit, her boundless love, and her unwavering dedication to making others feel cherished.
Edward, who preferred to be called Ted, hailed from Kansas City, Missouri, but his journey led him to Fort Myers, Florida, where he found not just a new place but a soulmate in Tina. He was an eternal free spirit and a 'big kid' at heart and was known for his infectious zest for life. Fondly termed to have 'Peter Pan Syndrome,' he held onto a youthful exuberance, relishing every moment with childlike wonder. Ted's passion for sports was one that followed him throughout his life, particularly baseball, following in his father’s footsteps of being a coach by nurturing the inner athlete within his daughter, Chloe. Racing held a special place in his heart as well; whether it was cars, motorcycles or boats, the thrill of speed and tinkering with machines delighted him, which was harnessed from home improvement projects with his father and Uncle Dick in his early years. He was a classic metal head born in the 60s with a love for music, especially Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. Ted was known for his hearty appetite, earning the lighthearted title of a 'bottomless pit' during family gatherings. His deep bond with his mother, Betty Lou, and the losses he endured in formative years, notably his younger brother Bert and father Ed, shaped his compassionate outlook on life. Despite hardships, his fun-loving nature and unwavering kindness remained his defining traits. Animals held a special place in his heart, exemplified by his beloved 14-year-old puggle, Bandit, and a lifelong affinity for cats and dogs. Ted's pride and unwavering support for his daughter knew no bounds; he dreamed of opening a veterinary practice after her graduation from veterinary school, a testament to his boundless love and selflessness. These shared dreams and future plans remain a poignant reminder of his enduring spirit and the love he held for his family.
