Venice M. Nolte's Obituary
Venice M. Nolte passed away on December 2, 2013 after a short illness. She was born February 28, 1921 in rural Nebraska, where her German immigrant grandparents had homesteaded. She married Vernon Nolte in 1938 and when Vernon was drafted, Venice accompanied him to many cities, including Tampa. After the war, the Noltes founded “Nolte’s Grocery” in Omaha and later were owners of “V & V Laundromat”. In 1971 the Nolte’s retired to Fort Myers Beach, where they built a home on Estero Bay. Venice was employed at Beach First National Bank until 1983, when she retired in order to spend more time with her granddaughters. The Nolte’s moved to Fort Myers in 1990, where Venice was a tireless caregiver to her husband for many years until his death in 2005. Venice became a resident of Barkley Place, where she was surrounded by friends and enjoyed many activities. She was a faithful member of Saint Michael Lutheran Church. She is survived and loved by her son, James A.(Pamela) Nolte of Fort Myers, Florida ; her daughter, Judy (Robert) Nolte Temple of Tucson, Arizona and her sister, Shirley Benish of Carter Lake, Iowa and her niece, Sharron Milota of Omaha, Nebraska; her grandchildren include, Cassandra (Scott) Dingess of Fort Myers, Florida and Jamie (Max) Abe of Tokyo, Japan, as well as eight step-grandchildren in Arizona; She also has two great-grandchildren, Steven of Fort Myers, Florida and Sebastian of Tokyo, Japan. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 5, 2013 from 10:00-10:30 AM followed by a funeral service at 10:30 AM in the chapel of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, Florida 33907,239-936-0555.
