Vera Lorane Beville's Obituary
On Friday, March 6, 2026, Vera Lorane (Heiter) Beville, passed away peacefully at Hospice in Fort Myers, Florida at the age of 95. Known by most as Grandmommy. She gracefully spread her Angel wings on her journey to heaven. She resided at Hampton Manor in Cape Coral for the past three years, where she was lovingly regarded as their Queen. She truly cherished her time there. Vera was born on March 25, 1930, in Tampa, Florida, to Father Johnnie James Heiter and Mother Bertha Lee (Johnson) Heiter. A proud second-generation Floridian (Cracker), she grew up in the Palm River area and graduated from Brandon High School. Throughout her life, she worked as a private secretary for the Honorable Judge Durance of Hillsborough County, Florida. Later in life became an Avon representative, retiring from JCPenney as a jewelry sales associate. After retirement, she became a greeter in cosmetics at Walmart part time for a short time. Vera was a loving mother to two wonderful children. Michael Fredrick Langley (deceased) from her first marriage. Her devoted daughter Lorinda Diane (Beville) Close with husband Larry Close. Followed by her grandchildren Christopher (Cheryl ) David (Christ), Ryan, and Brandon (Manuela). Great-grandchildren Rendi, Carson, Annabeth, Freya, Olivia, Ella, and Davie. Vera helped raise two children from her second marriage. Wanda Duty (Morris) and Jack Beville Jr. Vera was a loving, caring, fun, witty, and gracious woman who touched everyone’s heart she met. She liked to be the center of attention and brought joy wherever she went. Christmas was her favorite time of year. She decorated her home extravagantly and was especially known for giving beautiful gifts in pretty boxes that matched each person's personality. When going out, there was always someone stopping her to tell her how beautiful she looked or complimenting her earrings. She had around 100 pairs of dazzling earrings. Vera was very patriotic and passionate about God & Country, she admired her President Trump. She loved being involved with her family, never wanting to miss a single moment. Her last outings were to see her great-grandson Carson’s baseball opening day, and she enjoyed a special day with her extra daughter Terri, getting her hair done. She called her hair her Mojo.
Her hobbies included decorating her home, shopping at JCPenney’s and GW Boutique (Goodwill), buying items I could never imagine what she’d do with, and creating art through painting and diamond dots. She loved playing bingo, Uno, and dice. Fridays were her happy hour, and when musicians visited, she eagerly made them play "Sweet Caroline" not just for herself but for everyone in the residence. Vera’s passions extended to watching football, NASCAR (especially Jeff Gordon), Judge Judy, Steve Wilco, AFV, and Family Feud. She loved all kinds of music but especially country, with Toby Keith and Blake Shelton being her favorites. She was truly the best mom in the world. So long for now, our Queen.
