Verna was so thoughtful. I enjoyed visiting when she and Howard lived in Maryland and I lived in Washington. When Richard and I moved to Trumbull, CT, she introduced us to friends from her Cleveland synagogue, who immediately invited us to their daughter's Bat Mitzvah. They became our first friends in a new town. She drew animal pictures for Danny's room when he was a baby, and later sent me intricate hand made cards. She was warm, welcoming and a pleasure to know.
