Victoria Alice Waller Caughey's Obituary
Victoria Alice Waller Caughey, 85, one of the most amazing humans in this world, passed away peacefully surrounded by her entire family on Tuesday, August 10, 2021. A resident of Lee County since 1997, formerly of Marietta, GA, Victoria was born April 10, 1936 in Guelph, Ontario, Canada to the late Bessie Steen and Kenneth Waller.
Victoria, known as Bunny and Grannybunny, was a nurse, and also a caretaker to all of the (many) people she loved. She always smiled with her whole face, stuck out her tongue when you told her to smile for a picture, flipped through a magazine at the start of each day, and ensured everyone always had dessert. An avid crossworder and reader, The Old Man and the Sea and Alice in Wonderland were some of her very favorites. Patrick and Victoria always enjoyed a big Sunday breakfast and would alternate who got the original crossword puzzle from the paper and who got the photocopy.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Patrick Lynch Caughey of Fort Myers, FL; three children, Jennifer Jo Hipple (Robin) of Elizabethtown, PA, Cyndy Lynn Booth (David) of Fort Myers, FL, and Jeffrey Owen Caughey (Wendy) of Cedar Mountain, NC; one sister, Nancy McGregor (Richard) of Ottawa, Ontario; 12 grandchildren, Erin, Meghan, Justyn, Taylor, Jeffrey, Jordan, Kimberly, Courtney, William, Amber, Brett, and Bryson; as well as 12 great grandchildren.
No formal services are planned at this time.
Patrick requests that memorial contributions be made to Hope Hospice, 9470 Healthpark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908 in loving memory of Victoria Alice Caughey.
