Vincent Jesse Oglesby's Obituary
Vincent Jesse Oglesby, 92, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2011 in Ft. Myers, FL.?á Born on May 5, 1918 in Okeechobee, FL, he was a decorated WWII veteran. He received the Bronze Star Medal, the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, and the American Defense Service Medal. ?áA master mechanic, Mr. Oglesby worked on multiple construction projects for the Army Corps of Engineers and private construction companies.?á His work took him to many places around the US and the world including Somalia, Oman, Costa Rica, where he worked on the Pan-American Highway, and the Republic of Panama, where he worked on several Panama Canal and DOD related projects.?á He resided in Panama for 20 years and returned to his treasured Florida in 1981. Beloved husband of Josefina, dear father to: Jos?? Oglesby and his wife Lauren Feaux of Seattle, WA; Marilena and her husband Jeff Thorn of West Newbury, MA; Susi and her husband John Sullivan of Scituate, MA; and loving grandfather to: Scott, Leana, R??is?¡n, Jesse and Rocky.?á He is also survived by his sister, Julia Crabbe, of Miami, Fl. He will be sadly missed by all whose lives he touched.
