Violet "Bubbles" Smith's Obituary
Violet “Bubbles” Smith, age 72, of North Fort Myers, Florida passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 18, 2014. She was born on September 6, 1941 in Lexington, Kentucky, the beautiful daughter of Nellie (Collins) and William Loyd Griffith.Violet was an engaging, entertaining and energetic personality throughout her life and was bestowed the well-deserved nickname of “Bubbles.” She was loved by many and became friends with just about everybody she met. She was always generous with her time and talents, making everybody feel special in the process. She worked for many years as the resident ambassador at her son’s business, Tuttz Plumbing, where she regularly helped customers and made deliveries. In her spare time, Violet also enjoyed visiting as many local yard sales as possible and taking a cruise vacation whenever she could. Her favorite pastime, however, was being a parent and she was the best mother a child could ever have.Violet leaves to cherish her loving memory her sons, Kenny Hunter, Kelly Tuttle (Charlotte) and Kevin Tuttle (Deborah); her step-children Kim Murray and Monika Smith; grandchildren Kristopher Hunter, Kyle Tuttle, Kole Tuttle, Craig Graham, Chase Graham and Harrison Smith Case; great-grandchildren Connor Hunter, Matthew Hunter and Zachary Graham. She also leaves behind her sisters, Velony “Cookie” Baker, Nancy Faye Stinnett and Edna Mae Ware and her brother Jimmy “Bo” Jordan. Sadly, she is predeceased by her loving husband Ronald Smith; her stepson Ronald Smith Jr. and her sister Joyce Jordan.A Visitation will be conducted on Monday, June 23, 2014 from 10:00 AM until 12 Noon in the Chapel at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555. Pastor David Schwein from Central Baptist Church will celebrate a Memorial Service for Violet in the chapel at Noon. Immediately at the conclusion of services, family and friends will dismiss to adjacent Memorial Gardens Cemetery where she will be entombed in perpetual rest with her late husband Ronald.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you instead consider a donation in Violet’s memory to your choice of the following worthy charities that were close to her heart:- Amvets, Hope Hospice, Central Baptist Church of Fort Myers or the Harry Chapin Food Bank.Those who wish to offer condolences to the family at this difficult time are urged to visit Violet’s memorial webpage at www.fortmyersmemorial.com and sign the guestbook.
