Virginia Elizabeth Algar, 65, of Arcadia, FL, died July 3, 2016 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte, FL. Graveside memorial services will be conducted 2:00 PM Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens will military rites to be conducted by VFW Post 8463 Honor Guard, Cape Coral. Memorials: Wounded Warriors Virginia was born August 22, 1950 in Waukegan, IL, the daughter of Ernie and Helen (Schrolas) Kenly. She married Chipley Harold Algar on May 28, 1969 in Bradenton, FL. She was a veteran of the US Army. Virginia had a pride of serving her country and following her military service, she had ran for Desoto County Sheriff on seven times, one of which she had collected 23 percent of the votes. Virginia will always be remembered by her family as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, John Algar and his wife Ursula of Port Charlotte; siblings, Danny Kenly of Bradenton, FL and Tina Marie Rodriguez of Bradenton, FL; three grandchildren, Carissa Florez, Jacklyn Algar, John Nathan; and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Chipley Harold Algar.
