Virginia Wells Rollo's Obituary
Virginia Wells Rollo, age 89, of Fort Myers, Florida passed away after a recent illness on Thursday, May 22, 2014 with her loving family at her side.She was born on August 29, 1924 in Bartow, Georgia, the beautiful daughter of Addie Belle (Simpson) and James Arlie Wells. After a happy childhood and life as a young adult, Virginia married the love of her life, Otelo Delio Rollo, or simply “Del” as he is known by friends, and together they raised two wonderful children. As the wife of a career military serviceman, Virginia and the family traveled to and lived in many locations over the years. Some of her notable places of residence included Concord, NC, St. johns Newfoundland, Phoenix Arizona, Midway Island and Gainesville, FL before settling down in Fort Myers about three years ago.She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband Del Rollo; her son Mike Rollo and daughter Rosemary Connelly; her grandchildren Rebecca McDaniel, Rachel Decker and Emily Rollo. Virginia was a treasured aunt to her nieces and nephews and was greatly loved by the members of her extended family and many friends who will greatly miss her company. Sadly, she was preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter Cindy Roth. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be conducted from 11:00 AM -12:30 PM on Sunday, May 25, 2014 in the Funeral Home Chapel at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555. Chaplain Chuck Wester will celebrate a Memorial Service also in the chapel at 12:30 PM. After the service, family and friends will send personal reflections and prayers to Virginia by releasing balloons. A Memorial Reception with refreshments will then be served in the adjacent Colonial Family Center located on the cemetery grounds.Those who wish to offer condolences to the family should visit Virginia’s memorial webpage at www.fortmyersmemorial.com and sign her guestbook.
