Virginia K. Spear's Obituary
Virginia K. Spear (Ginny) was born in 1926 in Pittsfield, MA, daughter of Carlton and Marguerite Spear, and spent her early life in Meriden, CT. She was predeceased by a brother, Lewis M. Spear. Survivors are two nephews, Lee C. Spear of New Britain, CT and John J. Spear (Leigh Ann) of Los Angeles, CA, and a niece, Christine S. Light (Ed Munn) of Naples, FL.
Ginny was a graduate of Meriden High School, Green Mountain Junior College and Williams College of Banking. She was employed by the former Home National Bank of Meriden for 41 years, retiring in 1989 as Vice President and Internal Auditor. Subsequent employment included Auditor of the National Industrial Bank, bookkeeper for the Atrium Condominium Association, and tax preparation at H&R Block, all in Meriden.
She fully retired in 1994 to Lake Fairways Country Club in North Fort Myers, FL, where she was a member of the Ladies Golf Association, the Singles Club and the F.I.S.H. service organization.
Ginny loved to travel and had visited many countries of the world in her younger days. She is very fondly remembered by her niece and nephews.
