Virginia A. Torres' Obituary
Virginia A. Torres of Cape Coral, Florida and formerly of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, August 23, 2017 in Lee Memorial Hospital of Fort Myers. She was 83.She was born Thursday, June 28, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois; the daughter of the late Joseph and Sylvia Pierini. Enjoying working with math and figures, she excelled in her professional career as a bookkeeper until her retirement. She was a devout life-long member of the Catholic Church. After moving to Cape Coral in 1998, she became a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish and belonged to the CCW (Council of Catholic Women) where she served as treasurer for several years. In her personal time, she enjoyed playing Mahjong and in years past enjoyed playing Bridge and Pinochle with friends.In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 45+ years, Leo Torres (September 1, 1998). Virginia leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children; Theodore Torres and Theresa Torres Francisco and her husband Phil Francisco. She is also survived by her two sisters, Micheline Leri and Maria Peshek; and two dear grandsons, Philip and Joseph.Memorial services will be held 11am thursday, August 31, 2017 at St. Katharine Drexel Parish 1922 SW 20th Avenue, Cape Coral, FL 33991.
