Vivian Telin Erickson's Obituary
Vivian was born in New York Mills, Minnesota on January 25th, 1915 , to Peter William and Fannie Austin Telin. Her father passed away when Vivian was three years old. Her mother married Frank Woodbury when Vivian was seven years old. They moved to Page, North Dakota where Frank and Fannie had two more children, Carol and Keith. After Vivian graduated from high school in Page, she moved to Minneapolis, and attended business school at Minnehaha Academy. She met Donald Erickson on a blind date and they were married on November 18, 1939. Donald started a dental practice in Minneapolis, where they resided. Since 1947, the family spent summers at their cabin on Lake Sylvia in Annandale, Minnesota. Vivian was an active member of Ashbury Methodist Church, and First Covenant Church of Minneapolis. Vivian was a woman with a deep love of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. One memory is that she always had devotions, using the devotional book “The Upper Room”. She has three children, Jerry, Bill, and Judy. In 1953, Donald was drafted into the Army and the family moved to Hot Springs, Arkansas. Donald served 2 years, returning to Minneapolis in 1955. In 1978, they became snowbirds moving to Fort Myers, Florida. They were active members of McGregor Baptist Church. They traveled the world and took several mission trips to Ecuador with HCJB (Hear Christ Jesus Broadcast). They moved to Shell Point Village in 2002 where she resided until her death on June 9, 2015.Predeceased by parents Peter William Telin and Fannie Austin Woodbury, and loving husband, Dr. Donald O. Erickson, and brother Keith Austin Woodbury. Survived by sister: Carol, (Milton) Wall, White Bear Lake, Minnesota; three children: Jerry (Laurie), Minneapolis, Minnesota; Bill (Regina), Fort Myers, Florida; and Judy Dunn Miller (Jim) Miller, Annandale, Minnesota. Ten grandchildren: Mark (Christine) Erickson, Wheaton, Illinois; Krista (Calvin) Eshbaugh, Temple, Texas; Becky (Steve) Ramgren, Minneapolis, Minnesota; Kari (Chad) Conley, Orlando, Florida; Kelly (Adam) Skoog , Minneapolis, Minnesota; Tammy (Matt) Elstad, Minneapolis, Minnesota; Michael (Christina) Dunn, Vidor, Texas; Wesley (Brittani) Erickson, San Diego, California; Jalen and Jorden Erickson, Fort Myers, Florida. Sixteen great-grandchildren: Joel and Kirsten Erickson; Andrew, Daniel, and Christopher Eshbaugh; Evelyn and Lars Ramgren; Carson and Camryn Conley; Anna, William, and Johnny Skoog; Asher Elstad; Beila and Natalie Dunn; and Harlee Erickson.A memorial service will be held in Minneapolis, Minnesota at Bethlehem Covenant Church, 3141 43rd Ave. S, Minneapolis, Minnesota. 54406.Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 239-936-0555.
