Vivian (Knox) Sigmon Wingo's Obituary
Vivian (Knox) Sigmon Wingo, 95, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2024, in Fort Myers, FL. Born in Gastonia, NC on October 24, 1928, she was the only child of Carl and Daisy (Miller) Knox. Vivian was preceded in death by both of her parents and husbands Robert M. Sigmon, Sr. (1974) and E.L. (Jack) Wingo (1985).
Vivian moved to Morganton, NC when she was a small child. She graduated from Morganton High School and attended Montreat College in Montreat, NC. She married Robert M. Sigmon, Sr. and later moved to Bradenton, FL in 1955. In 1962, they moved to Fort Myers, FL where she lived for just under 70 years, 37 of those years in Brandywine. Vivian retired from Bank of America in 1993.
Vivian was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family. She passed her talent onto her daughter. She enjoyed reading, traveling, and shopping with her daughter and friends. She was always happiest when her children, grandchildren, and great grandchild came to visit her. She cherished every moment with her family: daughter, Chris Sigmon Briggs (Randy) Fort Myers, FL; son, Robert M. Sigmon, Jr. Little Falls, MN; grandchildren, Robert M. Sigmon, III (Mollie) Cliffside Park, NJ; Mary C. Sigmon Melbourne, FL; Michael T. Sigmon Panama City, FL; Kelly E. Sigmon Melbourne, FL; and great grandchild, Lily L. Sigmon Cliffside Park, NJ.
Vivian was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. She loved her children, grandchildren, and grandchild dearly; her entire life revolved around them. Entombment will be private for family only.
