Walter "Buck" Raymond Fulton Jr.'s Obituary
Walter "Buck" Raymond Fulton Jr. passed away on February 16, 2023 in Fort Myers. Walter, or Buck as he was affectionately known by, was born May 13, 1942, to Walter and Anna (O'Malley) Fulton in Pittsburgh, PA.
Buck has called South Florida his home since the young age of 5 years old. He served 2 years in the United States National Guard following graduation from Fort Lauderdale High School. He started his advertising career working in the marketing department at the Fort Lauderdale News, then he opened Fulton Advertising Agency in 1967. Some of his artwork can still be seen in the area such as the original design of the "Animal Friend" license plate, The Broward Humane Society logo, the City of Sunrise logo, and many other commercial and residential entrance designs. For a short time he was part owner of a Tex-Mex restaurant called The Texan Steakhouse. Prior to illness and injury, he enjoyed golfing, bowling (some may remember the bowling league named The Island Hoppers), and fishing. In his younger years he was an extra in the 1960's movie called "Where the Boys Are" filmed on Fort Lauderdale Beach in which he and a group of spring breakers picked up and moved his car from the street in front of the Elbo Room in Fort Lauderdale. Buck also worked with the Fort Lauderdale Police Department. Amongst these accomplishments he is best known for his sense of humor. He never knew a stranger and was quick with a one liner or phrase to get a rise or a smile out of practically everyone he met. His favorite phrase when meeting anyone for the first time was that he was the "World's famous Buck Fulton, known everywhere he goes, up and down the street."
Buck is preceded in passing by his parents and wife of 40 years Marlene (Ellison) Fulton.
Buck leaves his loving memory with his survivors Michael (Cathy) Fulton of Loxahatchee, FL, Wenter (Jason) Fulton of Tamarac, FL, Walter (Jodi) Fulton III of Boca Raton, FL, Wayde (Christi) Fulton of Cape Coral, FL, grandchildren Dustyn, Stephen, Aidan, Landon, Carsen, Camryn, Brendan, Avery, Lindsey, Payton, Julian, Skylar, Avery, and many cousins and other extended family.
Buck's family has entrusted Fort Myers Memorial Gardens with the care of his final arrangements. To honor Buck's wishes, there will be no visiting hours or services, however there will be a celebration of his life on March 11, 2023 at 3:00pm at Tamarac Community Center
