Walter F. Croon, age 78, of Cape Coral, Florida passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2015, born in Brooklyn, New York, moved to Miami after serving in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Walter married Janita “Jonnie” Ekgren from Sweden and after raising their girls in Miami, moved to Cape Coral in 1987. Married for 55 fun-loving years, Walter is survived by his wife Jonnie, daughters Darlene and Denise Croon, grandson Chase Ruppert, aunts, cousins and friends, and in-law family in Sweden.A memorial service will be held at the Cape Coral Elks Lodge, No. 2596, Sunday, February 15, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., 4631 SE 10th Place, Cape Coral, FL 33904.In lieu of flowers, family asks that gifts of love be sent to Hope Hospice, 2430 Diplomat Parkway E., Cape Coral, FL 33909.Those who wish to share a story, leave a tribute or offer condolences to the family at this difficult time are urged to visit Walter’s memorial webpage at www.fortmyersmemorial.com and sign the guestbook.
