Walter Michael Rak's Obituary
Walter Michael Rak, 92, of Fort Myers, FL passed away August 17, 2017 at Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers. Memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd, Fort Myers, FL 33907. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Cremation rites will be accorded. Memorials: Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida. Walter was born January 20, 1925 in Fall River, MA, the son of Frank and Louise (Baron) Rak. He married his wife Marilyn of 59 years on May 3, 1958 in Cumberland Hill, RI. Walter was a veteran of the US Army serving as a radio repairman of aircraft equipment. After his service he worked as an electrical engineer serving 45 years for the Naval Undersea Warfare Center. He was a member of NARFE and was a member of St. John 23rd Catholic Church. Surviving are his wife, Marilyn; children, Kathleen Levy and her husband James of S. Kingstown, RI, Kerrie Lynn Haskell of Pawtucket, RI and grandson, Ryan Levy. The Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Walter.
