Walter R. Moxon, 91, of Fort Myers, formerly of Sanibel, passed away July 8, 2011.?áHe was born July 12, 1919 in Taunton, Massachusetts to the late Walter and Clara (Newson) Moxon.?áIn addition to his parents, Walter is predeceased by his son Walter, daughter Judith, sister Arline Geise and grandson Peter Rudyk. ?á Walter?áMoxon?áwas a communications Sergeant?áin the US Army?áduring WWII.?áHe served our country from 1942 until 1945 throughout Europe And North Africa. ?á Walter and his wife Dorothy moved to Lee County in 1983 from Hauppauge, Long Island, New York.?áHe was an elder at Buckingham Presbyterian Church and also a member at Riverbend Golf Club.?áHe enjoyed traveling, camping, golfing, bicycling, beachcombing and reading.He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Dorothy; daughter, Dorothy (and her husband Karl) Bonheim of Baiting Hollow, Long Island, New York; son, Thomas (and his wife Kimberly) Moxon of Portland, Oregon; sisters, Glenis Anderson of Rockaway, Oregon and Jean (and her husband Harold) McGay of Cotuit, Massachusetts; grandchildren, Tammy Stephens, Lauren Bonheim and Alex Moxon; and one great-grandaughter, Sierra Stephens.?á ?á There will be a memorial service at a later date.
