Walter J Rutkowski's Obituary
Walter J. Rutkowski, 71, of Fort Myers passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on November 26, 2024. Walter was born March 12, 1953, to Henry and Lucille (Jaremba) Rutkowski in Detroit, Michigan. Beloved husband of Carolyn for 51 incredible years. Loving father of Nikki (Kevin) Eckhardt and Matt Rutkowski. Proud and adored Papa of Isabella and Emersyn. Dear brother of Bernie (Doug), Butch (Merna) Bobby (Pat), Judy (John), Louann (Charles), Gary (Charlotte), and Peggy (Doug). Caring Brother-In-Law to oh so many, and doting uncle of 33 wonderful nieces and nephews.
Wally was an entrepreneur and steel fabricator by profession. He was always up for any project that came his way. He was the handiest man who enjoyed and specialized in designing and building custom-made fire pit tables. In his free time, he appreciated spending time out on the water, fishing, watching anything and everything sports, listening to music, visiting the casino, relaxing at the beach, cooking, and spending time with his family and friends.
His most treasured accomplishment was his family. His legacy of love will live on forever. His one-of-a kind sense of humor, keen wit, skills in the kitchen, and playful nature, will deeply be missed by all that knew and loved him.
Walter's family has entrusted Fort Myers Memorial Gardens with his final arrangements. A Celebration of Life will held Saturday, January 25th, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Naples Church, 10910 Immokalee Rd., Naples, FL 34120. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are appreciated to the Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation.
