Walter J. Von Braunsberg's Obituary
Walter J. Von Braunsberg, 49, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2013. Born on June 20th, 1963 in Bethpage, NY he was the loving son of Theresa ?Ç£Terry?Ç¥ (Mulroy) and Walter D. Von Braunsberg of Fort Myers, FL, and resided in Lincolnwood, IL with his beloved wife Elizabeth (Haliday) Von Braunsberg. Walter was a devoted father of four cherished children, Isabel (7), Nora (6), Tommy (3) and Danny (1). He is survived by his sisters, Eileen McGovern (Randy Zeltman) of Fort Myers, FL, Johanna Von Braunsberg (Jack Shoemaker) of Delaware Water Gap, PA, and brother, Thomas Von Braunsberg (Kelly) of Lutz, FL. Seven nieces and nephews; Justin, Bryan and Matthew McGovern, Katie, Krissy and Carolyn Von Braunsberg, William Haliday, brother-in-law David Haliday and mother-in-law Irene Haliday, and his loving dog Snoopy. He was preceded in death by his sister Lisa A. and his brother Craig M. Von Braunsberg, his grandparents Albert and Catherine Mulroy, his sister-in-law Kathryn Haliday, and his brother-in-law Kevin Martin.He grew up in Lindenhurst, Long Island, NY and Bushkill, PA and was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Chemistry. He remained in Pittsburg for several years before moving to Chicago, IL. Walter worked as a Senior Process Engineer and a Sales Account Manager at Quaker Chemical (formerly DA Stuart Company) for the past 26 years in Pittsburgh and Chicago. Walter was an avid marathon runner and enjoyed playing and watching a variety of sports especially the Bears and the NY Mets. He took pleasure in drafting family and friends for all of his fantasy leagues. He, like his father, had a great sense of humor with a very kind heart and was always available to help a friend in need. He adored spending time with his children and was involved with their activities including the Indian Princesses. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday July 30, 2013 at Blessed Pope John XXIII, Catholic Church, 13060 Palomino Lane, Fort Myers, FL 33912. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up for his four young children during this trying time to help with the cost of their education.
