Wanda R. Rice's Obituary
Wanda R. Rice Wanda was born on March 23, 1933 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She relocated to Detroit with her mother as a child where she resided for many years. She worked as a supervisor for John Hancock Insurance helping process Ford Motor Company employee claims. Wanda and her husband started wintering in Fort Myers during the late 1980’s where they had a lovely home in the Royal Palm Village community. Wanda was an active resident who participated in many of their activities among them including shuffleboard, cards, bingo and their potluck dinners being some of them. Their home was ideally located directly across the street from the community center, shuffleboard courts and pool making their participation quite easy. She quite enjoyed spending time with their friends and neighbors in the park. She could always be counted on to provide her well liked lemon meringue pies to the park dinners and bake sales. Wanda married Don Rice in August of 1998 and shortly thereafter they started to reside in Royal Palm Village full time. Wanda moved to Saint Cloud, Fl. where she resided with her daughter Karen and son in law Jim in December of 2017. In December of 2018 she moved to Merrill Gardens Assisted Living of Champions Gate in Davenport, Fl. Wanda passed away peacefully on Monday, November 18, 2019 with her daughter Karen and grandson Jason by her side. Wanda was preceded in death by her husband Donald Rice, and grandson James. She is survived by her daughter Karen (Jim) of St Cloud, Fl. son Anthony Angerilli of Ft. Myers, grandsons Jason (Kathleen) of St. Cloud, Fl and Joshua (Sarah) of Clarksville, TN., great grand daughters Virginia and Marie of St. Cloud, Fl. The family will hold a small private celebration of life memorial at the Fry home in St Cloud. Wanda’s remains will be interred at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens in Ft. Myers.
