Wayne Allen Littlejohn's Obituary
Wayne Allen Littlejohn, 81, a 20 year resident of Fort Myers, FL, formerly of Fairview Heights, IL passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday, January 6, 2021. He was born November 25, 1939 in Upland, PA to the late William and Sybil Littlejohn.
Wayne was preceded in death by the love of his life, Dorothy in April 2020.
Wayne was a graduate of St. Louis University, and received his MBA from Lindenwood University in St. Louis, Missouri. He retired from Ralston Purina Company in January, 2000 after a long and successful career in both Information Technology and Internal Audit.
Wayne had a number of passions in life. Among those were his family and taking family vacations, exercise and weightlifting, achieving a black belt in karate, and a love for tennis.
Wayne also loved the Lord Jesus Christ and knew Him as his personal Savior. This translated into many different roles as a church board member, deacon, choir member and a very respected Sunday School teacher. His knowledge of the bible was extensive. After moving to Florida he also volunteered as a teacher and mentor with Teen Challenge.
Wayne is survived by his four loving children, Scott Littlejohn (Debbie) of Wildwood, MO, Lisa Walker (Brad) of Belleville, IL, Jeffrey Littlejohn (Crystal) of Virginia Beach, VA and Gregory Littlejohn of Fort Myers, FL; eight adored grandchildren, Sarah Faupel (Doug), Rachel Eilers (Ross), Timothy Littlejohn, Whitney Torres (Pat), Kirstin Walker, Katherine Littlejohn, Abigail Littlejohn and Emily Littlejohn; five great grandchildren, Sophia Faupel, Reed and Macy Kate Eilers, Braylee and Everly Torres; his adored and beloved dog, Maya; as well as several extended family members and friends.
A visitation will be held from 2:30 – 4:00 PM, Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL. A Graveside service will follow at 4:00 PM out on the cemetery grounds of Memorial Gardens with Pastor David Yannatone officiating.
