Wesley E. Williams' Obituary
Wesley Edward Williams, 86, of N. Fort Myers, died Sunday, December 25, 2011 at the Hope Hospice House after a courageous battle with kidney disease.?á He was born in Boonville, IN on June 30, 1925, the son of Paul Hayden Williams, Sr. and Leona Williams, both of Boonville, IN.?á He was a graduate of Boonville High School and the University of Indiana where he received his bachelor?ÇÖs degree in Geology. ?áWes was also a philanthropic supporter of the U.S. Olympics. ?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á He was proud to serve in the United States Navy, where he enlisted on June 26, 1943 and served until his Honorable Discharge on December 15, 1945 with the rank of Lt. JG (Lieutenant Junior Grade).?á He served as a Naval Aviator in World War II.?á ?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á Wes flew to Tulsa, OK where he proposed to Joyce Anne Pope and the two were married on September 8, 1948.?á The happy couple had four children: Kelly Hayden, Peggy Evelyn, Tammy Anne and Kerby Edward. ?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á In the late 1960?ÇÖs, the family moved from Greenville, KY to Naples, FL.?á As a long time member of the Naples Sailing and Yacht Club, Wes served as Commodore for many years.?á He moved from Naples to N. Fort Myers in 1993 where he resided until his passing. ?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á Wes was predeceased by both parents: Paul H. Williams, Sr. (1971) and Leona Williams (1991); his former wife, Joyce Anne (Pope) Williams (1986) and both his siblings: Paul H. Williams, Jr. (2011) and Juanita E. (Williams) Staton (2009).?á Survivors include his loving family: Kelly H. Williams of Destin, FL, Peggy E.
