Wiley C. Ford Jr's Obituary
W.C. Ford Jr, went home to be with his Lord on February 19, 2009 in Fort Myers, Florida. Born on December 18, 1925 in Sherman, Texas he served his country in World War II (Pacific Theatre) in the US Navy. He and his wife of 62 years, Melba Faye Kennedy, made their home in Levelland, Texas where they raised two sons, Larry and Bruce.W.C. worked as production leader with Mobil Oil for 40 years. His hobbies were electronics and sound technology. He and Melba were an integral part of the music ministry at First Assembly of God in Levelland and Lubbock, TX. W.C. embodied the word, “father”. He sacrificed to provide for his children’s future, he could fix anything, and his greatest source of pride and joy was his family.He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, their two sons, their wives Sherryl and Hetty, grandsons Jonathan, Seth, Matthew, Mark, Luke and Patrick, granddaughter Amanda and her husband Darius Cochran; great-grandchildren Nathan, Dylan, Zoe, Genevieve and Tabitha; nephews Don (Emmie) Ford, Weldon Ray(Evelyn) Ford, niece Mary Ivan Sexton, and numerous other family in West Texas.Visitation will be at 10 am with funeral service at 10:45 on Friday, Feb. 20 at First Assembly Ministries, 4701 Summerlin Rd., Fort Myers, FL 33919. Interment immediately following at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens. His grandsons will be pallbearers.In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the W.C. & Melba Ford Scholarship for Music & Sound Technology (South Plains College, Levelland, TX) at Bank of America.
