Willard James Peterson's Obituary
Willard James Peterson, 83, of Fort Myers, FL died Monday, July 4, 2016 at Hope Hospice Shellpoint of Fort Myers, FL. He was born September 11, 1932 in Chicago, IL to the late Oscar Peterson and Alice Anderson Peterson. Willard received his BA Degree in 1953 from Wheaton College and ultimately received his Master’s Degree from the University of Chicago. Willard married his loving bride, Eunice in 1960 in Chicago, IL. He enjoyed life whether it was via playing a good round of golf, reading a book, traveling, listening to music or watching sports on TV (golf, tennis or basketball). He was strong in his faith and was a member of Glen Ellyn Covenant Church of Glen Ellyn, IL and New Hope Presbyterian of Fort Myers, FL. Professionally, Willard worked as a portfolio manager with ABN AMRO. He was a member of the Bond Club of Chicago and Sanctuary Golf Club of Sanibel, FL. He remained interested in current events and will be sorely missed by many. Willard is survived by his loving wife of 56+ years, Eunice Peterson; their four children, Lisa Wald (Rob) of Raleigh, NG; Kristin Hughes (Kent) of Wheaton, IL; Andrea Davis (Michael) of Lewisville, TX and Keith Peterson of Glen Ellyn, IL. He is also survived brother Paul Peterson (Carolyn) of Fort Myers, FL and five grandchildren; Zachary Wald, Dustin Wald, Sasha Hughes, Haakon Davis and Marit Davis. A Memorial Service for Mr. Peterson will be celebrated at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 5, 2016 at New Hope Presbyterian Church 10051 Plantation Road, Fort Myers, FL 33966. Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home is assisting the family.
