"William Leonard Austin, 92, of Fort Myers, passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021. He was born May 8, 1929 in Hetland, SD to William L. and Zella (Wickander) Austin. Bill was a Veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy Reserves from 1951-1953. He was a pastor in the Christian & Missionary Alliance denomination for over 50 years, most recently in Orlando, FL for 40 years before retiring with his wife Diane to Shell Point community in Ft. Myers 12 years ago. He was predeceased by both his son William J. (Billy) and his beloved wife of 73 years, Diane, in 2020.
Bill is survived by his daughter DiAnn Austin McCarty, Winter Park,FL, son Jeffrey (Jessica) Austin, Fairbault, MN, granddaughter Eryn Maitland (Nolan), Lake Wales, FL, 3 nieces, 2 nephews and their families, South Dakota and 2 great-grandchildren, Jase R.Batsell USN, Sasabo, Japan and Addison Mc. Batsell, Clover, South Carolina.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907, 239-936-0555.
