William Paul "Bill" Tarka's Obituary
William Paul Tarka, better known as Bill to his many friends, of Cape Coral, Florida and formerly of New Haven, Connecticut passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2016. He was 70 years old.Bill was born on January 20, 1946 in St. Raphael’s Hospital, New Haven Connecticut. He was the son of Edward S. Tarka and Mary Dempsey Tarka.Bill attended high school and local colleges in Connecticut and California.He has been a resident of Cape Coral, Florida since 1978. He retired in 2008 from Schwab Ready Mix, Inc. as Vice President of Sales.Prior to moving to Florida, Bill spent several years as a rep for Budweiser and Heineken.He was a proud veteran of the USAF, spending four years in S.A.C. during the Vietnam crisis.Bill was a lover of golf and ran many corporate and fraternal golf tournaments. He was a loyal member of the Moose Lodge 2395 and also American Legion Post 90, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8463 and Eagles # 3957.Bill leaves to cherish his memory his only son Billy (wife Shae) and three beautiful grandkids Braden (13), Riah (9), and Reese (7) of Yorba Linda, CA. He also leaves behind his cousins Karen Johnson, Donna McNamara, Kevin Donovan, Fred Benetto, John Tarka, and Jackie.A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, 2628 Del Prado Boulevard, Cape Coral, Florida 33904, (239) 574-4545. There will also be an open house memorial later the same day at the “Lil” Moose, 419 E. Cape Coral Parkway, Cape Coral, FL 33904, (239) 945-6066.
