William Edward Charbonnier, Jr., 72, of Fort Myers, passed away November 27, 2012.?áHe was born April 9, 1940 in Boston, Massachusetts to the late William Sr. and Mary (Coppithorn) Charbonnier.?á William retired after 20 years from the Boston Police Department.?á He was a member of the Retired Boston Police Officers Association .?áHe received many medals and awards including the Medal of Honor for saving people from a burning building.?á He came to Lee County in 2009 from Palmyra, Maine was a catholic and enjoyed teaching his grandchildren, guns, target shooting, boating, reading and fishing.?á Left to cherish his memory, are his wife of 46 years, Dorothy; daughter, Dr. Dolly Charbonnier of Philadelphia; sons, Edward Charbonnier and his wife Kathleen of Everett, Massachusetts and Peter Charbonnier and his wife Amy of Seattle, Washington; brother, Alfred Charbonnier of Melrose, Masschusetts; grandchildren, Vincent, Emma Jane, Margaret, Eva, William and Vinnie; and his beloved dog, Penny.
