William J. Collins' Obituary
William J. Collins, 80 years of age, of Fort Myers, Florida passed away on December 25, 2013 at Hope Hospice in Fort Myers, Florida. Mr. Collins was born in Garrett, Kentucky on April 29, 1933, a son of the late Loren Collins and Lola Pickelsimer Collins. Bill retired from General Electric in Cleveland, Ohio in the 1970’s. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. Following his service in the Army Bill served his country in the U. S. Air Force and was honorably discharged. Preceding him in death besides his parents, was a son Joe Collins who passed in November 2011, and two brothers, Loren Collins, Jr. and Kenneth Collins. He had resided here since 1979 coming from the Cleveland, Ohio area. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 34 years, Joanne Beth Collins of Fort Myers, Florida; his daughter-in-law, Robin Collins; his two granddaughters, Carli and Kelsi Collins; his brothers, Frank of South Carolina, Leroy of Van, West Virginia and Jesse and David both of Logan, West Virginia; and his sister, Shelby of Chapmanville, West Virginia. He was also an uncle to many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be held in Logan, West Virginia on January 4, 2014 and in Cleveland, Ohio on January 18, 2014.
