William John Gaffney's Obituary
William John Gaffney, 86, of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully on the late evening of January 27, 2013 in Cape Coral, Florida. Bill was born in Chicago, IL, on November 25, 1926. He lived a long and full life, working as a mechanical engineer. Before getting his degree in engineering, Bill served in the Army in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre during WWII. In 1956, not long after the birth of his first child, he moved south from Chicago to Ft. Myers where he fathered two more children. Bill enjoyed reading, growing and tending to his plants and trees as well as listening to the music by such greats as Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand and Billie Holiday. Williams leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, three children, one stepchild, four grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one brother. Visitation will be held on January 31, 2013 from 4-8PM at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 1, 2013 at 11:00AM in the funeral home. Rev.
