William Frederick Ginegaw's Obituary
U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran William (Bill) Frederick Ginegaw went to meet his Lord on Saturday, November 2, 2019, surrounded by his wife of 52 years and his children. Bill lost his battle with cancer and is survived by his wife Dolores, three children – Pamela Blakesee (Jason), Scott Ginegaw (Lera) and Lorrie Ginegaw and four grandchildren – Ethan Sonnema, Meghan Blakeslee, Mitchell Blakeslee, and Robert Ginegaw and his sister Nancy (Hardy) Williams. He is preceeded in death by his mother Lois Ginegaw, his father Oliver Ginegaw and his sister Leona (Haggerty) Campbell. Bill graduated from West Nottingham Academy in 1964 and went on to attend Paul Smiths College for Hotel/Restaurant Management. Bill enlisted in the U.S. Army and attended the U.S. Army Electronics School for Cryptographic Computer Technology. He was sent to the S.E. Asia Signal School in Saigon, Vietnam and was an Electronic Cryptographer while in the Vietnam War. He received Advanced Cryptographic Computer Training. He returned to the U.S. in 1969 to attend the Army Methods of Instruction School in Ft. Huachuca, AZ. He worked as a certified instructor before he was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army. Bill used his military training for a long and prosperous career in electronics and was a key part of the installation of many of the automated toll readers on highways across the country and around the world. Bill and Dolores raised their family in Maryland and New Jersey and retired to Ft. Myers, FL. Bill will be greatly missed as a devoted, loving husband, father and grandfather. A small private service for immediate family will be held in Ft. Myers, FL. A Celebration of Life will be held later for his extended family and friends in the Mid-Atlantic region.A graveside service will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, FL where the United States Army will present Military Honors.
