William Gerald Havens' Obituary
William Gerald Havens Jr. of Lehigh Acres, Florida passed away with his loving family by his side on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 following some recent health challenges. He was 29 years old.Billy was born on March 25, 1986, the proud son of Susan Beth (Hensel) and William Gerald Havens Sr. He was a hunting and fishing fanatic throughout his life and was also a member of the Royal Rangers. He participated in Challenger Baseball and the Fire Explorers. Billy graduated from Lehigh Senior High School in 2004 and was a student member of the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC). More than these accomplishments and the many things he loved about life, Billy was especially proud of his close family, was a loving son to his parents and a faithful companion to his dog Bonnie.Billy faced an unfortunate battle with cancer and a cure was not to be found. It never discouraged him along life’s journey and he proved himself to be a hero to everybody.He leaves to cherish his memory his father William G. Havens Sr. and aunts and uncles Christine Hensel, Jerrilyn and Joe Kruser, Susan Havens and Thomas Havens. He also leaves behind a number of extended family members and a multitude of friends, including his Bass Pro Shops Family, made up of the many wonderful associates and great customers he worked with.Sadly, Bill was preceded in death by his mother Susan; grandparents Berneice and Gerald Havens and Mary and Lawrence Hensel.A Memorial Gathering and Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 from 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM in the Chapel at Hope Healthcare Services and Hospice House, 2701 Wings Way, Lehigh Acres, FL 33936, (239) 482-4673.Those who wish to offer condolences to the family, leave a tribute or share a story should visit Billy’s memorial webpage at www.fortmyersmemorial.com and sign the guestbook.
