William Frank Kish's Obituary
William F. “Bill” Kish passed away peacefully in his sleep at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral on June 10, 2014. Bill was born on August 25, 1921 in Calumet, PA but spent most of his life in Lorain, OH. At the age of nine, Bill helped support his family by playing in a Hungarian band. He would pull his set of drums in a wagon to different venues. He continued to play in various bands for many years. While drumming with the Johnny Bove Orchestra in 1941, he met his future wife, Dena (Santina) Bove who was the vocalist. They were married for 69 years. In 1945, they married when Bill was on leave from the Merchant Marines. He served from 1941-1945. Bill and Dena had four children; Bill (Diana) from Kentucky, Kristeen Pecora from Michigan, John from Arizona and Deborah from Florida. They also had 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Hobbies included fishing, golfing but especially traveling. Bill and Dena did a great deal of camping. They explored 47 of the 50 states. Bill worked at Timm Springs in Elyria, OH and retired as a Nationwide Insurance agent. Bill and Dena moved to Florida in 1989. Mary (Pravlik) his mother, John, his father as well as his sister Dorothy (Sanks) and brothers, John, Dick and Ed preceded him in death. Visitation will be held 4-6pm Friday, June 13, 2014 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home 1589 Colonial Blvd. Fort Myers. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11am Saturday, June 14, 2014 at St. Therese Mission 20115 N Tamiami Trail, North Fort Myers, FL 33903.
