William R. Krauss' Obituary
William R. Krauss of Fort Myers, FL, passed away Friday, June 14, 2019. He was born May 10, 1933 in Abington, PA, the son of Royle L. Krauss and Helen Stinson Krauss. He graduated from Cheltenham High School in Elkins Park, PA in 1951 and was later educated at Lafayette College in Easton, PA, class of 1955. He joined the Budd Company in Troy, Michigan in 1959 as a regional sales manager. He progressed thru the ranks to become President of the Wheel and Brake Division and later Corporate Vice President of Sales and Marketing with worldwide responsibility.In 1983, he retired from Budd after 25 years and formed Krauss and Associates, an international sales and marketing company. He retired in 1993.During retirement, he served locally as a volunteer consultant with The Executive Service Corps of Delaware Valley. Internationally he was a volunteer consultant for the International Executive Service Corps spending considerable time in Indonesia and other developing countries.He served on the board of Whitford Country Club for six years where he had been a member since 1982. He was elected president in 1999 and 2000. He also served six years as an officer on the board of Kelly Greens Golf and Country Club in Fort Myers, FL where he and his wife spent their winter months and moved to permanently in 2012.Mr. Krauss is survived by his beloved wife Barbara of 61 years. Also, three children: daughter, Kathy Krauss Oliveto and her husband, David, of Grand Ledge, MI and their children: Matthew of Lansing, MI and his wife, Brittany and their daughter Evelyn, and Brian and his wife, Sydni of Grand Ledge, MI; son, William Jr. of Downintown, PA and his wife, Catherine and their children: Katie and her husband, Craig Soden of Glenmoore, PA and Emily of Downingtown; daughter, Laurie Krauss Kiernan and her husband, Carey of Landenberg, PA and their children: CJ and Stephanie, and his most faithful companion, Buddy the dog.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908 or www.hopehospice.org.Online condolences may be offered at: www.fortmyersmemorial.com.
