William Barcus Lupfer's Obituary
William Barcus Lupfer of Fort Myers, Florida, better known as "Bill" to his family and friends, passed away peacefully at Health Park Medical Center on Monday, September 11, 2023 following some recent medical challenges. He was 96 years old.
William was born in Columbus, Ohio on July 12, 1927, the proud son to Elizabeth (Barcus) and William Billow Lupfer. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy and actively served during World War II and the Korean War. He was a graduate of The Ohio State University and the University of Michigan. Bill made his career in the paper manufacturing sector and served in a sales management capacity. He was the loving husband of 59 years to Virginia Ruth (Wagner) Lupfer, who sadly preceded him in passing in 2018.
Bill was a loving father to five children, Elizabeth, William Jr. (Kimiko), David, Melinda (Benson), and Tom (Gretchen), and a proud grandfather to nine: Leigh, Sarah, Harrison, Kyle, Emma, Luke, Joshua, Ben and Greta.
Immediate funeral services in Florida are private. The family is planning a Memorial Service for Bill which will take place in Illinois in the very near future.
