William A. Megletti's Obituary
William A. Megletti of Punta Gorda, Florida passed away after a sudden illness on Sunday, July 27, 2014 with his loving family by his side. He was 65 years old.William was born on August 30, 1948 in Dover, New Jersey, the proud son of Florence (Anderson) and Anthony Megletti. He was a veteran of the United States Army and experienced combat operations during the Vietnam War. He had a lifelong love of automobiles, especially his ’57 Chevy. He was the owner and operator of Megletti’s Texaco Service Station in North Fort Myers for over 20 years. He was also an admirer of horses, an avid boater and member of the Masons for many years.He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory his loving wife Mildred (Anderson); his children Linda Barfield (Jim), Nancy John (Chris), Chrissy McIntyre (Terry), Billy Megletti (Chris) and Kelli Young (Bill); his grandchildren Nancy Sarazen (Bobby), Kyle Thacker, Madison Schaaf, Faith John, Brandon Megletti, Paige Megletti, Matthew Barfield, Emmaraye Barfield, Billy Young, Jordan Young and Cole Young; his great grandson David Barfield; his sister Sue Megletti (Fred) and his brother Ed Megletti (Bev). He also leaves behind a number of extended family and scores of people who were proud to call him a friend. Sadly, he was predeceased by his parents and his grandson Adam Barfield.A visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Friday, August 1, 2014 at the Sonshine Worship Center, 12925 Palm Beach Blvd, Fort Myers, Florida 33905, (239) 694-8882. A Funeral Service will also be conducted there at 10 AM the following day, Saturday, August 2, 2014.
