William James Moran's Obituary
William James Moran of Cape Coral, Florida, passed away peacefully--he was 90.
Bill was born in Fall River, MA. He graduated from Durfee High School in 1954. During high school Bill worked for the Fall River Herald News.
After graduation, Bill enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served in the service to our Country at Dover Air Force Base in Dover, DE for four years. Upon discharge, he enlisted in the Army Reserves for another four years.
He went to work for Boston Mutual Insurance Company as an agent for five years before joining the Boy Scouts of America for 40 years as a District Executive in Cape Cod and Worcester, MA, and Nashua, NH. He was Assistant Scout Executive in Manchester, NH, and then Council Executive in Haverhill, MA, Erie, PA, and Syracuse, NY.
Bill was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, and very active in the many churches he attended. Bill was also an avid Rotarian for many years.
Bill retired in 2000 and moved to Cape Cod and remained there until 2019 before moving to Cape Coral, Florida where he was an avid golfer for many years.
Bill is predeceased by his parents, Samuel A. and Anna M. Moran; first wife, Claudette Beauregard Moran; and a son, Thomas Moran. He is survived by his second wife, Mildred (Jill) Alford Moran; son, Shawn Moran; daughters, Michelle Coldwell and Erin Allgeier; as well as grandchildren, Thomas Moran, Rileigh, Cade and Ethan Allgeier, and Sarah Coldwell.
Bill will be buried at a later time at the National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
