William Brenton Nash's Obituary
William Brenton Nash, 101, of Fort Myers, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019. He was born May 15, 1917 in Atlantic City, NJ and moved to Florida from Germany in 1977. He proudly served in the United Stated Air Force during World War II and also flew for the U.S. Navy. Among his awards, he received the WWII Victory Medal, European African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, American Campaign Medal and Honorable Service Lapel Button. He received honorable discharges for both the Air Force and Navy. He was also a member of the Society of Mayflower Descendants, Experimental Aircraft Association, OX5 Pioneers and the Eagle Scout Society.He retired in 1977 from Pan-AM where he flew as a commercial pilot for35 years. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and the Quiet Birdman as well as a longtime member of McGregor Baptist Church.Mr. Nash is survived by his wife of 51 years, Eva-Maria A. Nash; his children: Maria Alley, Juanita Akers, William B. Nash, Jr. and Mark B. Nash; his grandchildren: Martita, Richard, Brenton and Bryan and 3 great grandchildren: Margaret Rose, Shyanne and Thayer.Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday, March 18, 2019 in the chapel of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with burial to follow in Lee Memorial Park Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the United States Air Force. Friends will be received from 10:00 AM until the time of the service on Monday.
