William C. Norris' Obituary
William C. Norris, 94, of Fort Myers, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2012.?á He was born July 23, 1917 in Warehouse Point section of East Windsor, Connecticut.?á He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II where he served in the Flying Tigers 14th Air Force in Kunming, and Chentu, China and was an aircraft electrical mechanic. On June 15, 1944, he married Laura Liana of Somerville, CT.?á He was employed by Sage-Allen Department Store in Hartford, CT for over 40 years where he was the fleet mechanic/manager.?á While in Connecticut, he was a volunteer firefighter, fire commissioner, and president of the Warehouse Point Fire Department and a member of the American Legion.?á He and his wife, Laura, retired to Florida in 1986 where he was a member of the China-Burma-India Basha and Veterans of Foreign Wars.?á He and Laura traveled worldwide to China, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Mexico, and all 50 states. Mr. Norris is survived by his daughters: Virginia Saucier, and her husband, Dean,?á and Diane Hughes, and her husband, Timothy; four grandchildren: Vanessa Saucier LaRochelle and her husband, Kenneth; Matthew Norris Saucier; David Hughes; Priscilla Hughes Musgrave, and her husband, Joshua; and four great grandchildren: Karis, Talitha, Natalie and Brooke Musgrave.?á He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura, his sister, Catherine Norris Hitchcock, and his brother, John Norris. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord, 8121 Cypress Lake Dr., Fort Myers with entombment to follow in Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
