William Russ Rose's Obituary
William R. “Russ” Rose of Punta Gorda, FL succumbed to cancer on January 3, 2015 at Tidewell Hospice in Arcadia. He was born on October 13, 1930 to Franklin C. and Ruth A. (Allbritton) Rose. He was the youngest of 5 boys (all deceased). While still a teenager, he entered the U.S. Air Force serving in the Korean and Vietnam conflicts, retiring as a Master Sgt in late 1969. After retiring from the USAF, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service until he retired again in the late 80’s. He was a 40 year member of the Lodge 265 F. & A. M. and was a member of American Legion Post 110 in Port Charlotte. Russ is survived by his loving wife, Peggy, of 55 years; daughter Renee Robins of Bobcaygeon, Ontario, Canada; son, Raymond Rose of Port Charlotte and three grandsons, Zachary and Cody Brown of Bobcaygeon, Ontario, Canada and Justin Rose of Port Charlotte, FL. He is also survived by a niece, Barbara Williams of Port Charlotte, FL which has been like a sister of his wife, Peggy, all her life.
