William Edward Scott's Obituary
In loving memory of William (Bill) Edward Scott, III, November 26, 1957 to December 31, 2014, Lieutenant Scott of the Cape Coral Police Department (retired) was summoned to heaven on December 31, 2014 after a sudden illness and now walks with St. Michael guarding the gates of heaven. Bill was born in Charlotte, North Carolina to William E. Scott Jr. (deceased) and Augusta Cushman Scott of Cape Coral before moving to Louisville, Kentucky in 1961. He graduated from Waggener High School in 1975. After graduation, he attended Jefferson Community College while working as a cadet for the Jefferson County Police Department. In 1981, he moved to Cape Coral to begin his career in Law Enforcement at the Cape Coral Police Department. He acquired a B.P.S. degree from Barry University and a M.P.A. degree from City University. Due to his dedication, fairness and his respect of others he retired from the department as a lieutenant. In 2005, he was fortunate enough to meet his soul mate, Alena Hanzl who in 2012 became his wife. They enjoyed traveling, remodeling, motorcycling, quiet afternoons together but most of all the Miami Dolphins. Bill is survived by his mother, his wife Alena, his sister Betty Warner and brother-in –law Russ Warner, his niece Brittany Warner, his son, Johnny Manetta, his wife Ashley and the loves of Bill’s life his granddaughters Rylee and Preslee. Preslee at two years old says “Papa has gone to the clouds.” Rest in peace Bill, we will always love you and will miss you. Service for Bill will be at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Cape Christian Fellowship, 2110 Chiquita Blvd S, Cape Coral , Florida. Burial will be at a later date at Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Ft. Myers, Florida. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the Ft. Myers High Girls Softball, c/o Ft. Myers High School, 2635 Cortez Blvd. Ft.
